Latest 2008 Dodge Magnum (SRT) Houston
Reader’s Question:
I have heard a lot about the Dodge Magnum. I am quite interested in having one, aside from the powerful engine and size, how does this gentle giant perform while on the road?

The Dodge magnum is a car that you will really enjoy driving, especially the SRT8. Although there are 4 different models, the SRT8 is a favorite. Having all that horsepower, torques, spacious room, easy handling and a comfortable ride makes it a fine family car.
The five-speed automatic transmission up shifts smoothly, although sometimes a bit prematurely (probably as a concession to fuel economy). Gear engagement often lacks the crispness which I believe should be normal in a car with the SRT8’s credentials.
The Magnum feels enormously big in crowded parking lots and garage. Rear park assist or a rearview camera would be a necessity (for the sake of safety of course) for this long car, but neither is offered. When parallel parking, extra care must be taken to avoid scuffing the SRT8’s 20-inch wheels, as there’s insufficient rubber extending beyond the rims to protect them from even the slightest brush against a curb. Modern alloy wheels can have scratch easily and seeing a damaged one is always a depressing event.
Dodge offers these all wheel drive models which are designed to offer excellent cornering balance under all driving conditions and improved traction in snow and wet-weather conditions. Considering the weather, and traffic condition of Houston, Texas Highways, these road giants won’t let you down.
